The world counts its years in KM, the Card Era. Year 0 KM is the year the first true card was produced; negative dates mark the time before it.
The main line of history runs: the Raw Magic Age (-1200 to -710 KM), the discovery of the first seals (-710 KM), the first card (0 KM), the Ancient Card Age (0–214 KM), the first Card Masters Council (214 KM), the Seven Catastrophes Age (318–421 KM), the birth of the element cards (roughly 330–450 KM), the Card Wars (384–431 KM), the Void Exile Scandal (638 KM), the rise of the crossroad settlements (after 640 KM), and the Great Sealing (690 KM).
