Crossroad Guardians

The Crossroad Guardians are the local security force of the mixed settlements that grew strong after the Card Wars. Where different lineages share streets, the Guardians keep the sharing peaceful.

Their duties are practical: enforce the in-city card ban, inspect the card market, calm tensions between lineages, catch dangerous card users, and protect the public.

They are neither an army nor a secret order. They are the people who arrive when a market argument starts smelling like seal-smoke — which, in a crossroad settlement, is exactly the force that matters.
