Parallel Shard Event

In 341 KM, contact opened between this world and a parallel reality. It lasted a moment. A fragment of that other reality fell into Virex, and the event has never been fully explained.

The people of the region were changed permanently — nerves, perception, and seal-reading rewired. From them came the Cybers and the Cyber element; from the fallen fragment came the Parallel Shard, the most studied and least understood object in existence; and from the questions came the Shard Researchers, still asking them.

Orix Venn, a survivor, founded Cyber seal analysis trying to decode what had happened. The mystery outlived him, and intends to outlive everyone.
