Maelis Vorr

Maelis Vorr was born around -41 KM and is remembered for a single, world-changing observation: the fibers of the Syleth plant can hold seal power.

Before Vorr, seals lived on stone, bone, wood, and metal — heavy, fixed, and slow to make. Paper pressed from Syleth changed everything. Seal knowledge became portable, storable, and tradable, and in 0 KM the first true card was produced.

Every card ever made since is, in a sense, a footnote to Vorr''s discovery. The calendar itself — the Card Era — begins where that work ended.
