Cards choose no one — but a carried deck lies inside its owner's personal seal field, which makes theft its own craft.

There is no spiritual ownership in cards. A card does not choose its user, recognize a bloodline, or resent a new hand.
What protects a carried deck is the personal seal field: cards on a person''s body sit within it, and the field resists their being taken by force. Pickpocketing a live deck is less a crime than a failed experiment.
Card theft therefore concentrates where the field does not reach — warehouses, shipments, illegal markets, and attempts to break the seal field of the dead or unconscious. Each of these has its own criminal specialty, and its own page in Guardian casebooks.
