Void

Void is unlike every other element. It does not come from a wound in this world; it comes from outside the world entirely. The Void is not darkness, not hell, not empty space — it is a dimension where the order of existence itself fails.

In the Void, sound arrives late or not at all. Time does not run straight. Objects do not fully exist. Distance cannot be trusted. A person can forget their own name. Card effects turn unstable, and the creatures there do not move by the rules of the real.

Void power entered the world through the Void Exile — the old, heavy punishment of casting criminals through Void Gates — and through those few who came back. Society fears the Returned and insults them as the Diminished. Uncontrolled Void cards are among the most strictly forbidden objects in existence.
